Composers and songwriters Festival
Summartónar is a collection of concerts that take place all across the country during the summer. With its focus on composition, festival is a continuous, vital dynamo in the devolopment of Faroese music. The programme ranges from improvisations with numerous world premieres of contemporary folk music to rock concerts, and features artists from all across the world.

The Summartónar festival offers a platform for Faroese and international composers and songwriters, as well as a summer of music for locals and tourists. No matter which of the 18 islands you happen to be on, there is always a concert somewhere.
Itinerary: Fly & Drive with lots of music
MONDAY: Arrival to the Faroe Islands. Explore Tórshavn.
Arrival with Atlantic Airways. Pick up your rental car at the airport and drive to the capital, Tórshavn. Check in at hotel in Tórshavn.
TUESDAY: See today's program and enjoy a concert, for example, in a small village/island or in Tórshavn. Many of the concerts are free.
WEDNESDAY: We suggest additional experience which can be purchased upon booking. Faroese Cultural Evening.
Enjoy the day in scenic village of Gjógv, which is known for its unique natural harbour and a beautiful view of the island of Kalsoy. The natural harbour is an attraction everyone should take time to see.
Enjoy a Faroese Cultural Evening at Gjáargarð, which is located in the scenic village of Gjógv. The evening starts with a music feature, different musicians every Wednesday and afterwards a delicious dinner buffet is served. Use the opportunity to try some Faroese specialties.
The evening ends with everyone taking part in the traditional Faroese chain-dance.
THURSDAY: See today's program and enjoy a concert, for example, in a small village/island or in Tórshavn. Many of the concerts are free.
FRIDAY: We suggest additional experience which can be purchased upon booking. Vestmanna Cliffs, lunch and Sagamuseum.
Tour starts with a magnificent boat tour to the Vestmanna Cliffs. Weather permitting, you sail into grottos, through narrow sounds, and close to the vertical cliffs.
After the boat trip you have lunch and then you visit the only wax museum in the Faroe Islands, the SagaMuseum, which portrays the Faroe Islands dramatic story with 17 wax figures.
SATURDAY: See today's program and enjoy a concert, for example, in a small village/island or in Tórshavn. Many of the concerts are free.
SUNDAY: We suggest additional experience which can be purchased upon booking. Grotto Concert / Nólsoy and in Tórshavn
With the Schooner “Norðlýsið” to the island of Hestur or the island of Nólsoy. Here, a smaller boat takes you into a grotto where a concert is being held.
A unique experience, no two concerts will be the same due to the nature. In short, an experience of a lifetime!
MONDAY: Departure from the Faroe Islands.
Rental car is returned at the airport. Departure with Atlantic Airways.
