Kirkjubøur, the Old Cultural Centre and the Historical Museum in Tórshavn
By bus through Tórshavn over the hills to Kirkjubøur, the cultural centre, where you will be see to the ruins of the 13th century St. Magnus Cathedral and the 11th century church, still in use. We also visit the 900-year old “Roykstovan”, the old bishopric, considered to be the oldest wooden house in Europe. Still occupied by the 17th generation. Explore Tórshavn – the smallest capital in the world
By bus through Tórshavn. First stop is the national museum - get an insight into the Faeroese history. Continue to the Nordic House - an architectural pearl – which has housed many cultural events. Visit Vágar – panoramic tour
Drive along the coast to Leynar village and through the new 4,9 km long tunnel under the Vestmanna Sound to the island of Vágar. Visit the village of Sandavág and the village church, Miðvág, Sørvág, Bø and Gasadalur, the last village to get road connection. Enjoy the fantastic view of Tindhólm and Mykines. Visit the beautiful village of Saksun
On this tour we will visit Saksun, an isolated settlement situated beneath steep majestic mountains. In Saksun we visit Dúvugarðar, an old farmhouse, which today is a museum. On our way back we visit a traditional Faeroese wooden church in Kollafjord. We take the mountain road return to Tórshavn and weather permitting enjoy the fantastic view to the neighbouring islands. Excursion to Northern Eysturoy. Visit churches and old farmhouse
Driving north through tunnels and crossing the bridge combining the islands of Streymoy and Eysturoy. In Gøta we first visit a traditional Faeroese wooden church and an old farmhouse which is no longer in use. Afterwards we visit the new church in Gøta where we can see the beautiful glass-art made by the well known Faeroese artist Tróndur Patursson. Duration of tour 4 hours. Incl. coach/guide/entrance.
Panorama Tour (Eiði & Gjógv)
We drive north over the island of Streymoy over the bridge to Eysturoy and along the west side north past the village of Eiði, below the highest mountain in the Faroes, Slættaratindur 882 metres. Proceed to Gjógv with its small natural, a narrow ravine with high cliffs on both sides. Puffins nest nearby on the cliffs. On the way to Gjógv one can see the famous and historical stacks, called the Giant and the Witch. We also pass Funningur, where the Vikings first settled. Duration of tour 4½ hours. Viking Settlement in Kvívík & Kollafjørður
Drive along the coast to the village of Kvívík and see the remains of an old Viking settlement. In Kollafjørður we visit the old wooden church from 1837. Vestmanna boattrip, combination of coach and boat tour
Drive along the coast to the village of Vestmanna, approx. 1 hours drive. Boat tour from Vestmanna to the fantastic Cliffs, sailing close along towering cliffs, viewing the many birds nesting in the cliffs. Into grottoes a fantastic experience. Back in Vestmanna possibilities to buy souvenirs and coffee before we take the coach taking the mountain road back to Tórshavn with panorama view. Duration of tour 4 hrs. Klaksvík & Viðareiði
Driving north through tunnels and crossing the bridge combining the islands of Streymoy and Eysturoy. Through the undersea tunnel to Klaksvík, our main fishingport. From Klaksvík to Kunoy. After lunch in Klaksvik we visit the Christianschurch and stroll through the village. There is time for shopping and to explore the city on your own. Duration of tour 7 hrs. Hike Kirkjubø
By coach to our starting point outside Tórshavn. We walk up the hill where we will have our first rest and enjoy the view over Tórshavn. Then we walk over the fairly flat hills where we will see flowers and birds – and the islands of Koltur and Hestoy – until we are in Kirkjubø, the island’s oldest cultural centre, where you will be introduced to the ruins of the 13th century St. Magnus Cathedral and the 11th century church, still in use. We also visit the 900-year old “Roykstovan”, the old bishopric, considered to be the oldest wooden house in Europe. Still occupied by the 17th generation. Duration of tour 4 hrs. Hike Streymoyar Sill
By coach via scenic road to our starting point outside Tórshavn. We walk up the hill to cliffs where we view lakes, boulders and other glacial features. Good view over to the neighbouring island. Back on the coach a soft drink will be served. Duration of tou 3½ hrs. Incl. coach/guide/soft drink.
Helicopter tour
We drive along the coast to the helicopter pad, where we will get instructions from the helicopter crew before entering the helicopter. We fly over the neighbouring islands. A cruise with the schooner Norðlýsið
