Wednesday, September 18th

- Choose among:

  • Vestmanna Cliffs, 1300-1730 - Includes: bus/guide/boat tour. DKK 850

Pick up at hotels and we take the coastal road to the village of Vestmanna, enroute we drive through nice landscape. In Vestmanna we continue on a boat tour to the Vestmanna Cliffs, one of the most popular tourist attraction in the Faroe Islands. We sail into grottos, through narrow sounds, and close to the vertical cliffs. The boat tour is approx. 2 hours. Return to Tórshavn. 

 

  • Tórshavn City Tour and Kirkjubøur Cultural Centre, 1300-1600 - Includes: bus/guide/entrance. DKK 590.

Pick up at hotels. Tórshavn is a historical capital, beautifully situated at the foot of the surrounding mountains with a panoramic view of the island of Nólsoy. The town was founded in 825 AD and named after the Nordic god Thor. When you enter the old part of town, Reyn and Tinganes, you will find yourself in a confusion of lanes and narrow passages, steps and rocks and tiny black-tarred houses with white windows and green turfed roofs. You may think that you have lost your way onto the set of an historical film or into a museum, but what you see is in fact a genuine town dating from the Middle Ages and still alive with hens and children and all the buzz of ordinary life. Continue by bus to the newer part of town and historical Kirkjubøur. Return to Tórshavn.


  • Scenic tour of Streymoy & Eysturoy, 1300-1800 - Includes: bus/guide/coffee or tea & cake. DKK 790.

Pick up at hotels. Drive from Tórshavn to the idyllic village of Saksun surrounded by high mountains. We take a short walk in the village before continuing to the northern most village on the island of Eysturoy, the village Gjógv. Enroute we cross the bridge over the Atlantic Ocean, we pass dramatic landscape scenary with photo stop to enjoy the scenary. In Gjógv we explore the village visiting the natural harbour, walking to Mary’s bench to enjoyt the view to the northern islands. Coffee/tea and cake is served at the cosy hotel Gjáargarður before we return to the capital via the village of Funningur.
