The Faroe Islands are an absolute treasure, and they’re just waiting to enchant you. The ones that venture here are rewarded with an absurdly pristine natural paradise. Over and over you will be stunned by the scenery that surrounds you.

Fly and Drive 4 days / 3 nights
FRIDAY: Arrival to the Faroe Islands. The village of Gásadalur and impressive vantage points.
Direct flight from Iceland to Vágar Airport in the Faroe Islands (flight time 1 hr 30 min). Upon arrival pick up rental car.
To leave the island of Vágoy drive through the 4.9 km sub-sea tunnel to the island Streymoy.
Crossing the bridge to the island of Eysturoy you continue along the west side north to the village of Eiði. From Eiði via the panorama road to the village Gjógv. On route you will se the historical stacks, called the “Giant and the Hag” two rock columns just of the coast north of Eiði.
Also on route you will see the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, Slættaratindur (882 m) (From airport to Gjógv is approx 78 km).
Spend the night on Eysturoy.
SATURDAY: Scenic Gjógv and afternoon coffee in a Faroese home with storytelling.
Enjoy your day in the peaceful village of Gjógv, (population of approx 30 people) which is known for its distinctive natural harbour, and a must see when visiting the Faroe Islands.
Walk around in the magnificent nature and sit and relax on Crown Princess Mary´s bench with breathtaking views of the nearby islands.
In the afternoon drive to the village of Søldafjørður to visit a private home with an impressive garden to enjoy a coffee, cake and a nice chat with your host. (From Gjógv to Søldafjørður 32 km).
Spend the night on Eysturoy.
SUNDAY: City walk in the capital Tórshavn. Visit the cultural centre, Kirkjubøur.
Check out from accommodation and drive to the capital, Tórshavn (from Gjógv to Tórshavn 67 km).
After check inn enjoy a private city walk with local guide. Walk through the old part of Tórshavn, Reyn and Tinganes. When you enter the old town you will find yourself in a confusion of lanes and narrow passages, steps and rocks and tiny black-tarred houses – a genuine town from the middle Ages. This area not only unique in the Faroes but in the world. (citywalk 1 hr. 30 min.)
On your own you can visit the village of Kirkjubøur which is the Faroe Islands’ historical and cultural centre. The picturesque old farm is home to a family who for 17 generations have run the farmstead and ecclesiastic site. See the unfinished Magnus Cathedral and the small medieval church of St.Olav (from Tórshavn to Kirkjubøur 14 km).
The evening is at your own leisure. You will find various restaurants and cafés where you can have excellent food.
Spend the night in Tórshavn.
MONDAY: Departure from the Faroe Islands.
Check out from accommodation. Drive to Vágar Airport and return the rental car. Depart with direct flight to Iceland.
