Ólavsøka - National Holiday
Ólavsøka is the national holiday celebration. The streets of Tórshavn are transformed into a big party during these two days. You will have the opportunity to meet the Faroese people dressed in their finest national costumes, sample Faroese delicacies and watch the national sport of rowing. Do not miss the fantastic community singing and Faroese chain dancing. An experience for life.

DAY 1: Arrival to the Faroe Islands.
Arrival to the Faroe Islands with Atlantic Airways.
DAY 2 & 3: Ólavsøka - An experience for life.
Meet the locals, many of them wearing their beautiful national dress, taste delicious Faroese food and see our national sport, rowing. Do not miss the fantastic community singing, and do join in when the Faroese chain dance begins.
DAY 4: Do the day trip to the island of Mykines.
Day trip to Mykines also known as the bird paradise due to the rich variety of birds on the island. See at close hand the impressive gannets that only breed on Mykinesholm and the charming puffins with the colourful beaks.
DAY 5: Rent a car - Faroese highlights.
Visit the village of Tjørnuvík, which is surrounded by steep mountains. Here you can see the impressive rock formations the Giant and the Witch.
Enjoy the scenic village of Gjógv, which is known for its unique natural harbour and a beautiful view of the island of Kalsoy. The natural harbour is an attraction everyone should take time to see.
DAY 6: Island of Suðuroy.
From Tórshavn take the ferry Smyril to the island of Suðuroy. En route, you pass the islands of Sandoy, Stóra Dímun and Lítla Dímun.
In the village of Sumba you find the mountain of Beinisvørð, which is one long grass slope which rises to a precipice and the falls straight in to the ocean. Walk the short distance to the top of Beinisvørð, where a grand panorama view opens up and in the most beautiful way reveals the essence of the Faroe Islands.
DAY 7: Boat trip to Vestmanna Cliffs, Lunch, SagaMuesum.
This combi trip starts with a boat trip to the Vestmanna Cliffs. You sail into grottos, through narrow sounds, and close to the almost 700 feet high vertical cliffs. After the boat trip you have lunch and then you visit the only wax museum in the Faroe Islands, the SagaMuseum. Through 17 very life like figures, placed in very realistic surroundings you can follow the dramatic history of the Faroe Islands.
DAY 8: Departure from the Faroe Islands.
