Arrival with Atlantic Airways to Vágar Airport. Pick up your rental car at the airport.

Enjoy the rest of the day on your own, visit for example the small villages of Bøur and Gásadalur, or take a walk from the village of Sandavágur to the rock formation the Witches’ Finger. This hike offers a rich scenery and great look out points.

Spend the night on Vágar.

DAY 2: Visit the island of Mykines, which has a unique birdlife.

Drive to the village of Sørvágur, where you head to the island of Mykines by ferry.

The tour starts with a grand sail by majestic sea cliffs. Spot puffins, that charming little bird with a colourful beak, or the impressive gannet, which can only breed on the isolated isle to the west of the main island. Upon arrival you meet the guide and the walk begins. In the village, one can pop in at the local cafe.

Spend the night on Vágar.

DAY 3: A day with magnificent scenery, birds and flora.

Drive through the island of Streymoy, past the old whaling station Við Áir and over the bridge to Eysturoy.

We suggest a stop in the village of Eiði to *walk up to Eiðiskollur. Eiðiskollur has a very special plant life because it was a nunatak during the ice age and the sheep do not graze in the area during summer.
*Walk to Eðiskollur is with a local guide and must be booked in advance.

Continue on to the village of Gjógv and en route see the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, Slættaratindur at 882 meters and the impressive rock formations the Giant and the Witch, situated out in the sea.

Spend the night in Eysturoy.

DAY 4: The village of Gjógv, hiking, and the island Sandoy.

Enjoy the morning in the village of Gjógv, which is known for its natural harbour we recommend everyone sees. Here it is possible to hike up the mountain with a beautiful view over the adjacent islands and over bird cliffs. Get more information at the guesthouse in in Gjógv before going on a hike.

Continue on to the ferry harbor Gamlarætt via Tórshavn to board the ferry toward the island of Sandoy.

Spend the night in Sandoy.
