DAY 1: Arrival to the Faroe Islands.
Arrival with Atlantic Airways to Vágar airport. Pick up rental car at the airport and drive to Tórshavn.
We suggest a walk through the old part of Tórshavn, Tinganes. Here the Viking settlers established their parliament, Ting, year 825. Here you can see a Viking sundial, engraved into the rock. Afterwards you can visit to the National Museum that houses discoveries from the ancient Vikings. Spend the night in Tórshavn.
DAY 2 AND 3: Viking Festival on the island of Suðuroy.
With the ferry from Tórshavn to the island of Suðuroy. After checking into the hotel, drive to the village Hov, where the Viking days festival is held. Hov, is one of the oldest settlements in Suðuroy, as people lived there during the Viking Age. Hov was the headquarter of the chieftain Havgrím, who is also buried there.
Enjoy two days with lots of stories, viking music, activities, food, nature and culture. Spend the nights on Suðuroy
DAY 4: Tórshavn and Kirkjubøur.
Return to Tórshavn with the ferry. We suggest a visit to the village of Kirkjubø. Kirkjubøur is the oldest centre of history and culture in the Faroe Islands, with a picturesque old farm that has been owned by the same family for 17 generations. See the unfinished Magnus Cathedral and the small medieval church of St.Olav. Spend the night in Tórshavn.
DAY 5: Departure from the Faroe Islands.
Check out of hotel. Return rental car at the airport. Departure with Atlantic Airways.
